  Monster Speeds Up HDMI Cables

By SmartHouse Team | Thursday | 15/05/2008

Monster has introduced new speed-rated HDMI cables, which let you know exactly which cable to choose based on how long the cable needs to be.

If you stretch an HDMI cable across a long distance, there can be some degradation of screen resolution and colour depth, explains Monster.

"Most important to understand", says Geoff Matthews, Marketing Director of Convoy International, "is that speed is dramatically affected by cable length."

To compensate, Monster's new speed-rating performance system allows you to select the HDMI cable that suits your needs.

For example the MC 800HD cable is catered for higher performance needs such as advanced colour and lossless audio.

The top of the range MC 1000HD cable, meanwhile, claims to do all that and more. It also comes with a Life replacement offer, so if the cable is ever outstripped by technologies of the displays or sources, Monster says it will replace the cable free of charge.

RRP:
• MC 1000HD –from $399.95
• MC 800HD –from $299.95
• MC 700HD –from $269.95
• MC 500HD –from $199.95
