The SilverScreen, which retails for $20 per metre, has similar features to the Carnival Classic range, but its unique feature set includes a jacket heavily overlapped by a twin-foil shielding system, which in turn is surrounded and protected by a low Q translucent PVC outer jacket, the company says.
The shield fitted to the SilverScreen cable claims to reduce interference, lower the noise floor and bring significant improvements to the entire frequency range of the system in which it is used. Timing improves, as does the dynamic performance, levels of detail coherency improves, according to the company.
While the cable can work well with any mid-range hi-fi system, the company also recommends using SilverScreen with home cinema systems – with best results attained using the cable for the front three speakers and Carnival Classic for the rear.
Chord Carnival SilverScreen is available in a dual conductor twisted pair configuration. In order to bi-wire, two runs are required.
