The a700 (RRP $2,249 body only) boasts CCD imaging and original Column AD conversion technologies for high-speed picture quality and a newly-developed BIONZ image processor which removes minute noise components.

"This has been a highly anticipated extension of our digital SLR division," said Sony Australia business development manager, digital SLR division, John Wallace.

"With the a700 we aim to provide a high performance solution that meets all of the diverse, sophisticated demands of high-end enthusiast and professional photographers alike."
