Apacer High-Speed USB Flash Drive Made For Vista

By Sarah Falson | Thursday | 06/09/2007

Taiwan-based Apacer has shipped three USB drives in 1GB, 2GB and 4GB capacities which can swivel almost flush against the computer chassis allowing users to carry around their notebooks without pulling out the portable drive.

The company is calling the Handy Steno AH421 4GB (RRP $85) a "boutique" USB flash drive and claims the world's first blade-shaped design which not only swivels 180 degrees to prevent it from sticking out, but also features a unique design which stops it from covering any other USB ports when it is lying flat.

The flash drive was made for use with Windows Vista ReadyBoost which claims faster response times than other operating systems. The unit can reach data transfer speeds of 17MBPS, making it of the ‘high-speed' variety, and includes a soft ‘Apacer'-branded flag which attaches to the end for securing the flash drive to a keychain or simply for use when pulling it out of the computer's USB drive.
