There is also the SupraPlus Wireless Professional Headset system, which is aimed specifically at call centre employees. It comes in two wearing styles which are priced at $595 and $625. Finally, the Voyager 510SL Bluetooth Headset System ($389), which allows you to seamlessly switch between office phones and Bluetooth mobile phones.

"Compan
ies are increasingly embracing new technologies as a vehicle to improve service to their customers and key partners and hence, where a company's main business focus is communication, the demand for wireless office headsets is increasing. Companies of all sizes are quickly realising that the freedom of wireless headsets allows for more efficient multi-tasking and better productivity," said Plantronics Australasia's Graeme Gherbaz.
Since MP3-enabled mobile phones are on the up, Plantronics has also launched three stereo mobile headsets to cater for this trend. Headlining the act is the MX203S stereo mobile headset, designed to provide users with a single headset to take calls and listen to music. If you are listening to music on the headset, you will hear a ring when a call comes in and can answer it by touching a button on the headset. It also features WindSmart technology, designed to minimise wind interference while talking or listening to music.
The third group of products in the new range is PC headsets, targeted at a range of uses including gaming, podcasts, Internet telephony and multimedia. There is the .Audio 340 ($44.95), which Plantronics claims is compatible with AOL, MSN, Skype and Yahoo! and more, and features a noise-cancelling microphone to enhance speech recognition. The .Audio 510 USB ($99) and .Audio 550 DSP ($149) feature 40 mm speakers and a noise-cancelling microphone. The 550 also features a digital signal processing chip and PerSono Audio Control Centre software for controlling volume, bass and treble levels.
Plantronics' Xbox-specific headsets, the GameCom X10 ($39.95), X20 ($44.95) and X30 ($49.95) round off the new product range. "With the new GameCom headsets, Plantronics is responding to feedback from gamers who have told us they want headsets that are discreet and provide precise voice without overpowering the actual game audio. The new GameCom products give gamers a choice when it comes to headset wearing styles, price and colour schemes," Gherbaz said.
