  Sennheiser Goes Mobile

By Manisha Kanetkar | Monday | 15/05/2006

Headphones specialist, Sennheiser Communications, has jumped on the mobile phone bandwagon by introducing two new lines designed specifically for mobile phones.

The company has introduced the MM (Mobile Multimedia) range, targeted at consumers with MP3 playing mobile phones whilst the MB (Mobile Business) headset range is aimed at professionals.

MM10

The consumer range features three models: MM10 ($49.95), MM30 ($79.95) and MM50 ($89.95). The MM10 and MM50 are stereo in-ear headphones with a microphone packaged in the cable. The MM30 is a stereo neck-band headset with an in-line microphone. All models feature an "answer/end call" button and come with a cable-linked plug for Sony-Ericsson phones and a four-pole 2.5 mm jack for other manufacturers. The top-end MM50 also comes with a choice of small, medium or large ear sleeves.

The business range comprises of four new cable-link headsets: MB10 ($169.95), MB20 ($179.95), MB30 ($189.95) and MB40 ($219.95). All models feature an in-built noise-cancelling microphone and Sennheiser's "ActiveGard" technology. The latter claims to protect hearing from noise interference and sudden volume changes. Each model has a different wearing style: ear-hook for MB10, neck-band for MB20, head-band for MB30 and the option of ear-hook or headband for MB40. They all come with cable plugs for Nokia, Siemens and Sony-Ericsson phones or a 2.5mm jack for other manufacturers.
