In order to achieve this aim, the Pro-12 subwoofer design has been modified from a bass reflex enclosure to a larger 103 litre tapered transmission line tunnel which wraps around a specially designed 5 speaker, 3 way vertical D'Appolito array for pinpoint voicing and accuracy.
The D'Appolito array consists of twin butyl rubber impregnated carbon fibre mid/woofers, twin silk dome midrange/tweeters, and a single ribbon super tweeter.
The dual chamber cabinet design takes the form of a truncated pyramid in order to eliminate internal standing waves and provide an aesthetically appealing form.
The Subwoofer chamber is a constant taper "C" shaped design, wrapping around the inner chamber, which is asymmetrical and has no parallel surfaces.
The ribbon tweeter is exactly at ear level from a seated position for perfect acoustic image centreing whilst the combination of cone and dome midranges provide excellent off axis response up to 35 degrees.
