  Toshiba’s Fuel Cells Coming in March 2009

Batteries and solar panels may be heading out the door as Toshiba showed off in Japan, a mobile phone that used fuel cell technology.

The Japanese CE giant stated it would direct methanol fuel cell would be available in several of its products at the end of the first quarter in 2009. What products will be powered by the cell? Toshiba are not saying, but they do say that recharging fuel cell gadgets is quick, even though it does emit a small amount of carbon dioxide and water vapour while it generates power on the go.

As well as putting fuel cells in new gadgets, Toshiba's is said to be working on re-chargers for existing products, using a fuel cell to generate power for whatever's plugged in.
