  Electrolux Ergorapido Vacuums Re-Released

By Sarah Falson | Sunday | 02/09/2007

Consumers are increasingly time-starved and prefer to clean their homes in small doses instead of large, time-consuming ones so they have more time for leisure, according to Electrolux.

The Swedish appliance-maker has re-released a range of Ergorapido (RRP $199) 2in1 cordless upright vacuums that are designed to make cleaning small areas simple. The vacuums' slimline, modern design mean users are less likely to store the unit away in a cupboard, meaning the Ergorapido is easy to access – especially since it incorporates a smaller, lift-out hand-held unit which is perfect for lounges and small areas.

A study by Electrolux found that in Europe 49 per cent of men and 52 per cent of women feel time pressured in their everyday lives, while 70 per cent of women prefer daily quick cleaning to weekly deep cleaning as it is more integrated in their lifestyle (Electrolux did not supply figures for men here).

This trend, which the appliance-maker calls ‘instant cleaning', is the philosophy behind the Ergorapido's design. The new range, which comes in four colours, incorporates a newly-designed airflow system couples with a rolling brush and nozzle that optimises dust pick-up, according to Electrolux.
