Dyson DC24 Ball is a lightweight and compact cleaner. It was developed from the full-sized DC15 Ball, so it easily manoeuvres around household furniture with a turn of the wrist. Dyson engineers replaced wheels with a ball with the motor sitting inside the ball, making it lighter in hand and easy to steer.
DC24 compresses by one-third of its height when it's not in use so it's easy to store. Its motorised brush-bar captures ground-in dirt and pet hair, so it has the all-round cleaning performance of a full-size Dyson.
Like the DC24, the other model, the DC25, is hygienic, and is asthma and allergy friendly - both machines have a trigger bin-emptying system, which means dust and dirt can be emptied directly into the bin.
The two new Dyson machines are accepted by the National Asthma Council Australia's Sensitive Choice program, based on Dyson's patented Radix Cyclone technology, which doesn't lose suction. The air expelled from a machine contains up to 150 less bacteria, mould and allergens than the room's ambient air, claims the manufacturer.
They may be compact, but they are tough. Not only are they made from the toughest materials (the bin is made from the same material as riot shields) - they have been dropped down stairs and rolled over 1,600km! Finally, there are no ongoing bags or filters to buy.
