  Technology Shortens Coffee Queues

By Manisha Kanetkar | Thursday | 13/07/2006

If you’re tired of standing in long queues for your juice, coffee or even your café meal, you will like the idea of Q’LESS – a self-service food order station developed by Whitech Solutions, which promises a reduction of queuing time by over 30 percent.

Instead of placing an order with a person behind the counter, Whitech wants you to use the Q'LESS touch screen monitor to select and place your order. You can even make alterations to your order such as removing tomato from a hamburger or changing sauces from barbeque to tomato.

The order is sent electronically to the kitchen and once the order is ready, the customer will be notified on an LCD monitor. Depending on the store, customers will pay either at the counter or at the order station.

Not a bad idea if it means we get our coffees faster in the morning!
