  Control System Translator

By Caroline Warnes | Wednesday | 02/08/2006

Calypso Control Systems has unveiled the UT-500, a tool offering protocol conversion for any combination of IR and serial commands.

The device sits between the legacy control system and any new device, such as a projector or DVD player. The legacy commands within the control system are then converted to new commands by the UT-500 and passed onto the new device.

"The UT-500… enables you to cost effectively add a new component to the system without having the original code," according to Calypso product manager, Warwick Maver.

The device can also operate as a stand-alone controller.

The UT-500 has a RRP of $422. More information is available at www.idt.com.au
