  New Control4 Wireless Lighting

By David Richards | Tuesday | 22/05/2007

A new wireless lighting dimmer has been announced in Australia by Control4. The device allows lights to be controlled from any location without having to get up to a switch.

The wireless dimming module which is being sold by Control4 distributor Convergent Technologies in Australia, can be easily connected into new and old lighting systems as well as connected out of sight, in-line with the lighting load for complete control of virtually any lighting condition.

The In-Line Dimmer has ZigBee built-in, allowing it to communicate with the Control4 system without the need for additional wires.  The dimmer also supports traditional mechanical light switches, through an auxiliary switch input so that even older homes can be integrated into the lighting system. The dimmer measures only 150 x 49 x 35mm, making it ideal a wide variety of wall or ceiling cavities.

The Wireless In-Line Dimmer gives home or business owners many new ways of controlling their lights, via Control4 Keypads, Touch Screens, LCD Keypads or Remote Control. This allows anyone to turn off the lights on the other side of the house by pressing a few buttons on a remote, or using one of the many Control4 touch-screens available.

All of this built-in intelligence means a home's lighting control can be easily personalized with lighting scenes or in response to schedules and user activities, providing a level of power and flexibility that is second to none. The Wireless In-Line Dimmer is available now, comes with a one year warranty and retails for $300 INC GST.
