  Obonok Moves 1080p Over Ethernet

By Mendelson Tiu | Tuesday | 26/05/2009

Obonok Technology has released a new product that allows a user to move 1080p footage from a Blu-ray player to an HDTV placed in any room using a single Ethernet cable.

The company says that the new Blu-Wire Series has the unique ability to connect a high-definition source, such as a Blu-Ray disc player, to hundreds of HDTV's within a 350-metre radius using only singular Cat 5e/6 cables.

In addition, the new improved units reduce the signal noise over low cost cable and are backward compatible with all existing models. The T1 & R1 pair support resolutions of 1080p, 1080i, 720p, 480p, and all computer resolution up to WUXGA (1920x1200) over a distance of 46metres. 1080i / 720p and other resolution/formats transmit 61m.

Power only the transmitter when using a pair or every third receiver unit when using RD1 Daisy-chain receiver.
