Philips has used the CEDIA Expo on the Gold Coast to announce for the first time in the world a brand new $1,800 Pronto Remote, the TSU9400. The vertical TSU9400 as opposed to the current horizontal Pronto remote has more wireless functionality and allows for easy interfacing with audio-video equipment and third party control systems.
Recently, Qualifi, the distributor of the highly popular Philips Pronto remote system, hired a full time Java programmer in an effort to create new interface software that allows a multiple of services and devices to be linked into the Philips Pronto device, which is proving very popular with installers due to its ease of use.
The slender and contemporary Pronto TSU9400 features a bright vivid flush-mounted 3.5" QVGA (320X240) colour touch screen, ensuring easy readability with personalised backgrounds and graphics. It also has a bold, aluminium-black design look and with white backlight buttons.
The baby brother to the Pronto TSU9600 model, the new wireless controller will go on sale later this year in Australia.
To create the ultimate in customisation, the Pronto TSU9400 also comes with the recently updated ProntoEdit Professional software. The new editor software, Philips claims, makes more efficient use of configurations already programmed, cutting down on repetitive work.
For easy programming, installers can access a large database of up-to-date model-number equipment codes. In addition, the editor features one of the most extensive channel icon libraries for Europe, North America and Australia/New Zealand.
A built-in channel wizard incorporates guides that allow one to setup favourite channels in a matter of minutes.
The ProntoEdit Professional software also features the exclusive ProntoScript programming functionality, which enables two-way real-time interaction and the creation of a dynamic user interface.
