New Philips Pronto Smart Remote Unveiled

By Manisha Kanetkar | Friday | 19/01/2007

The latest model in the Philips Pronto Smart Remote range is a control panel which will integrate everything from a home theatre to lighting, with many out-of-the-box control features.

The control panel features a 3.7 inch VGA touch screen, a dedicated user interface that allows control of Lutron RadioRA lights and shades as well as out-of-the-box control of Escient's Fireball Music Sharing Protocol.

Australian distributor of the product, Qualifi, expects that a range of software solutions will be designed and released for the new Pronto TSU9600, making it compatible with popular audio, video and other devices, including Australian-made lighting control systems.

The remote can also be used with two optional extenders for extra control – one module (RFX9400) for out-of-the-box Wi-Fi and wired network compatibility, and individual, addressable IR ports. As well as the RFX9600 which can be connected to power sensing triggers and relay switches to perform additional ‘smart home' tasks.

The remote will be available mid-February and only through professional integrators.

RRP: $2,399
The optional extender modules' pricing details will follow.
