  Automated Window Wins Industry Award

By | Tuesday | 23/10/2007

The Breezway Altair Powerlouvre Window System, which we covered in SmartHouse earlier this year, has now been awarded Most Innovative Window System by the Australian Window Association.

Breezway's automated window system enables the opening and closing of louvres with a switch, perfect for hard to reach windows. It can also be incorporated into a more complex home control system.

Breezway General Manager Martin Wilson said,  "The Altair Powerlouvre Window System is not only an innovative, well designed window system, but also a system that meets the needs of our customers.  We set out to design an automated louvre window with improved aesthetics by doing away with external motors and connectors and that was also simple and easy to install and operate. We are extremely pleased that the Altair Powerlouvre Window has been recognised as achieving these aims."

The AWA is the national industry body for over 380 members, representing the interests of 90 percent of Australia's window production. Members include manufacturers, fabricators and resellers as well as suppliers and installers to the window industry.

AWA Executive Director Ian Frame said, "The AWA congratulates Breezway for its ground-breaking innovation. The increased popularity of this year's Awards is indicative of the exciting growth of new product designs, of which the Altair Powerlouvre Window System was a leader. Australian window manufacturers and suppliers like Breezway have responded cleverly to current consumer demand for simplicity, energy efficiency, sound reduction and improved security."
