  Low-Key Antenna For Car TV

By Adam Gosling | Friday | 12/08/2005

HiTV Communications, distributors of the HiTV Pure mobile digital receiver has released two new hi-powered DTV antennas, including one discrete transparent device.

Designed for the automotive market, these new antennas are designed to work with the HiTV Pure for the luxury and 4WD segments of the market. The HiTV Pure captures digital TV signals for DVD quality reception and sound at speeds beyond 100km per hour. This is achieved by the use of high quality diversity antennas and two TV-tuners built into the console.

The discreet transparent antenna installs in the front and rear windscreens and is perfect for owners who care about the aesthetics of their car. It is almost invisible when installed with a see-thru design allowing for a sleeker look in antenna setup and mounting. The transparent antennas also come with powered signal boosters for added strength and clarity of TV reception.
Also new is the shorter and more compact design for a roof or boot mounted antenna. The shorter exterior antenna is only 20cm tall with a similar profile to car-mounted mobile phone antennas. Yet the unit is powerful enough to receive digital TV signals while on the move.
In addition, a combination of both the transparent and external antenna is also possible for that added flexibility for installers. Below is an example from a limousine service provider who installing both the external antenna and the transparent antenna.
