  Entry-Level Sub From Boston Acoustics

By Caroline Warnes | Thursday | 25/01/2007

Boston Acoustics has unveiled a new series of subwoofers for the entry-level market.

The G1 series has two models, a 10-inch and a 12-inch. Both models use the same cutout size and are engineered for optimisation in the same sealed or vented enclosure volumes, Boston claims.

They also use the same enclosure size as Boston's G5 and G2 models, allowing an easy upgrade path from the G1.

Both models also feature two-inch voice coils and a 1¾-inch excursion as well as shallow mounting-depth requirements of 121mm for the 10-inch and 127mm for the 12-inch.

"With these G1 models, Boston now offers a full range of superb performing mobile subs at every important price-point," according to Boston Acoustic's director of mobile audio, Leif Blackmon.

The 10-inch model retails for $249 while the 12-inch sells for $299. More information is available at www.hifivideom arketing.com.au
