Convergence is the name of the game in the Communications space this year. With mobile phones more popular than ever before, manufacturers are packing more and more functionality into slimmer, sleeker casings. Research companies such as ABI Research predict that all-in-one Internet connected personal devices (i.e a phone, heart rate monitor, MP3 player etc) will be shipping 95 million units globally by 2012. And while we may not have a mobile phone that tells us our heart rate just yet, we can have a phone that offers digital camera functionality, a music player, internet access and much more.
