We Pick The Best Real Sound Gear For 2008 This year, we have added AV receivers and home theatre kits in the Sound awards and note “Sound” not “Hi-Fi”. We feel hi-fi has become an old-fashioned word to some. These days real sound gear can be networked, it can be wireless, it is so much more than what hi-fi has traditionally meant. But though we’ve ditched the word hi-fi and included 5.1 systems, our winning products are still very much “high-fidelity.”
