  Panasonic Launches Massive Projector For Curved Surfaces

Panasonic has launched a projector at CEDIA today that is designed fro projection onto spherical, curved, cylindrical and other odd and unusually shaped surfaces.

The PT-DZ12000E series projector is a four lamp, 12,000 lumen projector available in two versions: the wide-angle WUXGA version and the SXGA versions, both of which weigh about 35 kgs.

The projector is designed to offer ‘geometric adjustment' which allows images to be projected onto odd-shaped surfaces and which has applications for the retail, hospitality, entertainment and special events industries.

The specifications include a 0.96" diagonal (16:10 aspect ratio), DLP projection system; a contrast ratio of 1     5,000:1 (full on/full off, in Dynamic iris 3 mode); resolution of     1,920 x 1,200 pixels, applicable screen size usage of 70 - 600 inches and an RGB input scanning frequency of fH 15-100 kHz, fV 24-120 Hz.

According to Panasonic, the projector and its pricing details will be available as of October.
