  ZigBee To Boost Wireless Standard Support: CES

The ZigBee alliance will be showcasing a range of home energy management solutions based on the ZigBee wireless standard at the 2008 CES (Consumer Electronics Show) in Las Vegas, aiming to grow worldwide awareness of the company's proposed standard.

The ZigBee Alliance is an association of companies that aims to deliver cost-effective, low-power, wirelessly networked, monitoring and control products based on an open global standard.

Based in the US, ZigBee is keen to speak with local Australian representatives to grow knowledge of its standard, and will be displaying three main technologies at the show:

1. Energy Management and Efficiency DEMO - ZigBee will demonstrate a diverse home energy management system.

"Utility companies around the world are adopting ZigBee technology to facilitate unprecedented energy efficiency. The way consumers manage and pay for electricity will be changing as governments address energy demand and concerns around global warming," said ZigBee representative, Penny Capra.
