The 2008 awards are open for the first time to the over 1.8 million small businesses in Australia and 3. 6 million people that work in the SMB sector that demonstrate innovation in their use of IT.

Dell regional President, Joe Kremer, said rewarding the best in Australian small business utilisation of technology is a strong way of showcasing the success of Australian small businesses to the world.

"Giving Australian small business a platform to share their skills and innovation in the IT sector will only contribute to the success stories this country is producing."

Kremer also said the awards set an important precedent for the small business sector in terms of developing a focus on technology and innovation.
