Stream Your TV and Music For Free

By Ty Pendlebury | Monday | 05/06/2006

Hauppauge Digital has announced its own "place-shifting" product which allows users to access content from their home PC, including TV, from any internet connection.

The website, orb.com, enables users to log in and enjoy live TV or recording programming from the company's range of analogue PVR cards. However, according to the local distributors, New Magic, there is no local EPG as yet and there is no support for digital cards.

The Orb software is available for free, and you at the moment you don't need to own a Hauppauge product to use it. It will still enable you to stream music, movies and pictures to any internet-connected PC, PDA, mobile phone or laptop.  Users can also send links to content stored on their home PC to other users to stream.

To take advantage of the TV features, Hauppage WinTV PVR devices are available from around $150.
