  ABC Digital Renames Channels

By | Monday | 11/02/2008

Customers with set-top boxes who use IceTV’s Electronic Program Guide (EPG) to view TV program listings should be advised that from today, the ABC network will be named either ‘ABC1’ or ABC2’, depending on the region.

The ABC network has re-numbered its channels as follows:

Old Name

New Name

Old Number

New Number

ABC*

ABC1

2

2

ABC2 Digital

ABC2

21

22

ABC HDTV

ABC HDTV

20

20

* - ABC in this case will previously have differed by region, for example Sydney would have been "ABC TV Sydney" and Brisbane would have been "ABC TV Brisbane", all of these channels have changed to just being "ABC1".

IceTV has updated the channel name and number information in the guide. More information on the change itself can be found on the ABC website at http:/ /www.abc.net.au/tv/newtv/on_your_tv.htm

Once the change is done the majority of PVRs will require a re-scan of the channels. The easiest way to do this on the majority of PVRs is to re-run through the setup of both the guide and scanning of channels, all setup guides are listed on our website at http:/ /www.abc.net.au/tv/newtv/on_your_tv.htm, says IceTV.

If you experience any problems, contact support either via email at support@icetv.com.au or via phone on 1300 654 803.
