Watch Winter Olympics On Telstra Mobile

By Mendelson Tiu | Wednesday | 20/01/2010

Telstra announced that it will be delivering the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games to its mobile users via its Foxtel Mobile service next month.

The Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games will be broadcast via Mobile Foxtel by Telstra and BigPond Sport beginning on 13 February 2010, with customers having access to Foxtel's four dedicated 24-hour streamed Vancouver 2010 channels.

The four channels streamed to Telstra Next G customers' mobile phones will be identical to those broadcast to FOXTEL customers as part of FOXTEL's wider Vancouver 2010 coverage, meaning people can catch the action anywhere.

Foxtel's Chief Executive, Kim Williams said, "Our Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games offering will allow Australians to watch what they want, when they want, over a device of their choosing.  Our coverage over Mobile Foxtel by Telstra will allow Australians to watch their favourite Winter Olympic athletes and gold medial events on their mobile phone as they are on the go. In addition, on some mobile packs customers will be able to enjoy live video, on-demand content, medal tallies and athlete profiles."

Mobile FOXTEL by Telstra customers who have the Ultimate Combo or Sports Pack will receive the four streamed channels as part of their current package at no additional charge for the entire 17 days of the Olympic Winter Games.

Telstra Next G customers can also purchase the Vancouver 2010 Action Pack directly from their mobile phone on BigPond Sport. For $3.95, fans will receive a one-day access pass. For $9.95, users will receive an event pass which provides access to content from now until March 1, including the four FOXTEL channels during the Olympic Winter Games and pre-event content such as athlete profiles, venue information and more.
