  An Apple A Day Keeps The Online Music Rivals At Bay

As yet another new music online service is launched, the folks over at Apple are happier than pigs in swill with how well iTunes is going and how badly the competition is faring.

PluggedIn, with 10,000 free high-def music videos from studios such as Sony BMG and EMI was launched by Overbrook Entertainment and which offers free music video streaming in HD at broadcast quality and which can be viewed full screen with a media player. PluggedIn also hosts over 1 million artist profiles and has already gathered considerable attention in the industry, calling it the next generation of MTV.


Getting back to the mainstream vendors, it seems if you don't work for a company named after a piece of fruit, well, you are just whistling Dixie as they say.


According to an Apple spokesman, "ïTunes has been the number one vendor in the US and in Australia and New Zealand we are also very happy with our results".
