According to Google Australia the top 10 retail searches this year are, Kmart catalogue, Target catalogue, IKEA Australia, Coles Online, Bunning's, Fantastic furniture, Sportsgirl, Good Guys, Rebel Sports and Crazy Johns.
Ironically, the search does not necessarily generate a hit for the retailers, with specialised sites that list catalogues such as lasso gaining the traffic.
Google have also revealed that retail web sites that use a lot of Adobe Flash will not generate traffic because of search indexing problems.
The world's #1 search engine has also revealed that mobile search is growing in popularity and that content delivered to a mobile site will be indexed separately to a main stream site.
