  Paramount Reveals First Blu-ray Movies

By SmartHouse Team | Thursday | 15/05/2008

Paramount, which previously supported the HD DVD format exclusively, has now announced its first Blu-ray releases in Australia: Spiderwick Chronicles, No Country For Old Men, Cloverfield and Shooter.

Set to hit shelves on July 31, the three titles will be the first of many from Paramount to release in dual Standard and Blu-ray. All new release titles going forward from July 31 will come out in both formats, the studio says.

The Spiderwick Chronicles, based on the children's series of books, will include behind-the-scenes featurettes, an exploration of the Spiderwick world, an exclusive peek inside Arthur Spiderwick's Field Guide on the Blu-ray disc release.

The other three titles have already been released on DVD, with the Blu-ray release offering extra featurettes, behind-the-scenes, commentaries, deleted scenes and more.
