According to David Leckie, Seven Media Group chief executive in an interview this morning with AAP, the media company's new management structure will "allow us to unleash the power of Seven Media Group and its media businesses".

The changes include Seven Media Group and Seven Network CFO, Peter Lewis, as the new CEO for Seven Media Group and who also assumes the station management role from Ian Johnson who was managing director of Channel Seven Melbourne.

For his part, Johnson has been appointed chairman of Channel Seven Melbourne, with the current network director of sales for Seven and director on the board of Yahoo!7, James Warburton, being appointed to the newly created role of chief sales and digital officer of the Seven Media Group.

Sydney sales director, Kurt Burnette is now the new network director of sales and Lewis Martin, currently the Seven Network's Melbourne sales director, is in the new role of general manager and sales director of Channel Seven Melbourne.

Lastly, Trevor Bird, general manager, group technical services, will assume responsibility for all broadcast services at Channel Seven's broadcast centre in Melbourne.
