Baz Luhrmann’s Australia Unveiled on BigPond

By SmartHouse Team | Monday | 19/05/2008

The upcoming movie Australia by director Baz Luhrmann and starring Nicole Kidman will debut its trailer on BigPond TV from today.

The first trailer for the film will be introduced by Nicole Kidman and is available to watch here.

The film is a romantic action-adventure set in Australia pre-WWII, centering around an English aristocrat (Kidman) who joins forces with a rough cattle driver (Jackman) to save her cattle. The film releases in November this year.

"Movie trailers are hugely popular online, particularly ahead of the big screen hits, and there is none more highly anticipated than Australia," said BigPond Group Managing Director Justin Milne.

"We are delighted to be partnering with 20th Century Fox to be presenting the Australia trailer using our new full-screen digital online player.

"BigPond Movies offers Australia's most popular online DVD rental and legal movie download businesses, so scoring the exclusive first release of the Australia trailer is a huge endorsement of our commitment to movie fans and Telstra's position as a media comms company with its eyes firmly fixed on the future," he said.

Managing Director of 20th Century Fox, Australia Marcos Oliveira, said "We are absolutely thrilled to present this trailer, in conjunction with BigPond. The trailer presents all the elements of a truly epic movie, in the hands of one of the world's most visionary directors and two of the world's biggest movie stars. We couldn't be more excited."
