  Panasonic 16GB SDHC Memory Card

By Manisha Kanetkar | Tuesday | 23/10/2007

Digital cameras have made us more snap-happy than ever, and Panasonic’s new 16GB SDHC memory card will give you the memory space to truly go crazy with your photography.

The 16GB model offers a claimed data transfer speed of up to 20MB/s and expands on Panasonic's Pro High Speed line up of 1GB, 2GB, 4GB, 8GB and 16GB memory cards, with the Class 6 Speed specification.

Designed to partner the new Panasonic Lumix L10 camera, the 16GB card can capture approximately 3,000 still images in JPEG Fine mode using the DMC-L10, the company says.

Also compatible with Panasonic's HD camcorders, such as the SD5 we reviewed last week, the card can record approximately 4 hours of High Definition video in AVCHD normal mode, and approximately 2 hours 40 minutes of 1920 x 1080i in AVCHD fine mode, according to Panasonic.

Good news, since our major issue with the SD5 camcorder was that it would chew up a lot of cards if you like to shoot long home movies. Of course, this kind of storage comes at a price - $498 (RRP) to be exact.

The card will be available in November.
