  Olympus Rolls Out Intelligent Camera For Beginners

Olympus aims to make photography a point and shoot affair with the launch of an ‘intelligent’ 10-megapixel camera that can handle any shooting situation.

The Olympus Mju 1060 sports a slimline design with a 7x optical zoom and an iAuto function that automatically analyse scene content and apply optimum settings to suit the scene. The camera also provides automatic macro and night scene shots and adjusts to any situation.
 
And with a proprietary Face Detect & Shadow Adjust technology, users can be sure to have properly exposed subjects and sceneries. A large, 3-inch HyperCrystal LCD monitor is also incorporated in the camera's design for easy shooting.

In addition, the Mju 1060 features Olympus' Dual Shakeproof CCD-shift image stabilisation system and high-ISO sensitivity to compensate for camera shake and subject motion that can cause blurring, particularly on high-power telephoto shots. High quality image are also assured by the camera's high-definition 10.1 megapixel CCD, and Olympus' exclusive TruePic III image processor that claims to accurately reproduce true-to-life colours.

The Mju 1060 also offers:
•         ; Pre-capture movie function to ensure fewer missed shots
•         In-camera panorama image compositing with on-screen guide for camera movement
•       &nbs p; 3D GUI
•         Universal Colour Design authentication for easier visibility for the sight impaired
•         Micro SD memory card recording and playback supported via MASD-1 Micro SD adapter 
 
The Mju 1060 comes in piano black and will be available from September 2008 for $449.
