When Wii launched in December 2006, in time for the Christmas rush, Nintendo played up the console's accessibility to different genders and different age groups. By using simple hand movements, consumers with no gaming experience were able to pick up the controllers and play.
Various new games will be available for the console in the lead-up to Christmas and afterwards, with Pokémon Battle Revolution in stores on 22 November. The game allows Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl players to copy their Pokémon characters from Nintendo's DS games into a 3D environment on the Wii and battle players around the globe via the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection.
Available on 29 November will be Super Mario Galaxy; available 13 December will be Link's Crossbow Training; and Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles will also be available 13 December.
Wii titles for 2008 will include Endless Ocean on 17 January, and Zack and Wiki: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure first quarter.
