  Microsoft Releases Halo 3 Today

Microsoft Game Studios has announced that Halo 3, one of the most awaited games for the Xbox 360, is now on store shelves across Australia today.

From the legendary Bungie Studios, the critically acclaimed first-person shooter (FPS) continues the story of Master Chief in the Halo trilogy which has gripped gamers around the globe. With the fate of the galaxy hanging in the balance, Master Chief is the only one who can save the human race in this much anticipated third installment in the Halo franchise.

Director of Xbox, David McLean said, "Excitement couldn't be higher for ‘Halo 3'. An astonishing one-in-four Xbox 360 owners have pre-ordered the game in Australia and we're expecting ‘Halo 3' to set new sales records for not just video games but the entertainment industry at large."

Availability and Pricing

The Halo 3 Legendary Edition will cost $199.95, will be released in limited quantities, and will come with a highly collectible Spartan helmet case and two bonus discs packed full of extra content.

The Halo 3 Limited Edition will cost $119.95 and will also include a bounty of extras including a sleek metal collector's case, a bonus disc found in the Legendary Edition, as well as a special Halo fiction/art book.

Finally, the Halo 3 Standard edition will have an RRP of $99.95.
