Philippoussis, Kruger & McKenny Compete In Wii Battle

By Sarah Falson | Friday | 25/01/2008

Tennis stars Sonia Kruger and Todd McKenny will play Nintendo Wii Sports tennis against a team comprised of Mark Philippoussis and a competition winner as part of a Nintendo marketing campaign amongst the Australian Open.

The promotion ran this week on radio station Mix 106.5, and the ‘showdown' will take place on the final day of the Australian Open, Sunday 27 January from 5:15pm. The match will be displayed on the big screen at the event.

Prior to the showdown, two other competition winners will compete on the big screen to battle it out for the title of ‘ultimate Wii Sports tennis champion'.

The champion will then go on to play a doubles match teaming up with Philippoussis, against Kruger and McKenny.

Nintendo hosts a branded tent at the Australian Open at which the Wii competition will be held.

Nintendo is the Official Console Supplier of the Australian Open 2008.
