Exercise Your Eyes On Nintendo DS

By SmartHouse Team | Monday | 07/01/2008

The latest game that is “good for you” from Nintendo is an eye training, exercising and relaxing game called Sight Training. It is designed for the DS platform.

Nintendo says Sight Training follows on from the success of its Brain Training games, allowing gamers to train their visual abilities, in the same line as racing car drivers or elite athletes.

Created under the supervision of Dr Hisao Ishigaki, a leader in the field of Sports Vision and Sports Optometry at the Aichi Institute of Technology Japan; Sight Training concentrates on five aspects of vision: hand eye-coordination, peripheral vision, eye movement, momentary vision and dynamic visual acuity.

Hand-eye coordination relates to being able to analyse visual information very quickly, and translate it into accurate hand movements; peripheral vision is the ability to see things outside of your visual focus; eye movement is the aspect of moving your eyes rapidly to pick up a lot of visual information quickly; momentary vision is the ability to process a lot of information in a single glance; and dynamic visual acuity allows your eyes to see moving objects clearly.

Each training session lasts two to three minutes.

Sight Training is the latest release in Nintendo's Touch! Generation's series, which is designed to have broad appeal to those who may never played a game before.

The game will be available on January 17, 2008.
