The new blue DS will join the white, black and pink consoles and will be available in July.

Nintendo says Australia's highest selling console for 2006 and 2007 (according to GfK figures) is well poised to kick on in its popularity with the launch of the new colour along with the recent launch of new Touch! Generations game for the device.

"Nintendo DS is positioned perfectly to continue expanding its demographic reach," the company said in a statement.
