Dirt Cheap Blu Ray Units Coming
In the same way that white box PCs drove down the price of PCs, a new generation of black box Blu-ray players that could be as low as $150, is set to hit retailers in Australia. In the US, the price war has already kicked in with Vizio offering their VBR100 for $200. Lite-On is set to top that with a $150 unit later this month.

Kogan Technologies today launched the second generation Kogan Blu-Ray player 2.0 at the price point of $269.

Featuring Full High Definition 1080p resolution, the Kogan Blu-Ray player 2.0 supports MPEG1, MPEG2, AVI, DIVX movie formats as well as a range of music and picture file types. Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus and Dolby True-HD compatibility also features to ensure high quality audio.

Kogan claims that the Blu-Ray player 2.0 also ensures that you will not have to deal with the hassle of waiting endlessly for movies to begin, providing an extra fast loading disc time. 

The Kogan Blu Ray player 2.0 is available for pre-order now on the Kogan website (www.kogan.com.au) and will be shipped on 11 July 2009.
