NEC 1080p LCDs 'For The Future'

By Sarah Falson | Tuesday | 05/02/2008

NEC has joined the big guns with two new 1080p LCDs – a 40-inch and a 46-inch – but with a difference, allowing users to control features on the TVs including sound and programming via a centralised computer making them perfect for digital signage or home entertainment uses.

The new full-HD NLT-40FHD100 and NLT-46FHD100 each offer three HDMI inputs for increased connectivity, which NEC says will cover the new models for the future, offering HD connections ready for the changing audiovisual landscape, which is increasingly HD.

"The new Full HD Television range represents NEC embracing of the coming shift in digital technology standards.  The future of consumer audio-visual is with the 1080p format.  It offers the highest resolution available, progressive scanning, for an incredibly sharp picture," said NEC Australia category manager for audio visual, Paul Cunningham.

"Already we've seen the emergence of the 1080p format with high definition DVDs and cutting edge games consoles.  This range reaffirms NEC's position at the forefront of this emerging technology, and is an ideal product for the discerning customer with one eye to the future."
