By Mike Wheeler | Tuesday | 19/08/2008

Two budget, ultra thin DVD players have been released by TEAC, which are both aimed at places with limited space such as apartments.

First up is the DV221, which although only 220mm in length, does not stop short on features, which include DVD/DVD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW, MP4, CD/CD-R/CD-RW/HDCD Kodak Picture CD, and JPEG - all of which allow the DV221 to perform multiple functions such as playing music and photo viewing.

It has digital connectivity including coaxial digital output and progressive component video output (Y,Pb/Cb,Pr/Cr), and also 32 language subtitles, zoom option and a remote control. Finally there is a multi-format video and audio playback, LED display and 16:9 & 4:3 screen sizes.

Released at the same time is the 360mm-long DV3131, which has digital connectivity including coaxial digital output and progressive component video output (Y,Pb/Cb,Pr/Cr) to further enhance the digital cinema experience by delivering crisp pictures and smooth transitions.

It comes in a stylish silver with black face, and comes with the same features as the DV221, but is also PAL/NTSC/Auto compatible.

RRP
DV220 $69
DV3131 $79
