New Home Cinema Kit From Mordaunt Short

By John Archer | Wednesday | 21/02/2007

Acclaimed speaker brand Mordaunt-Short has launched a new sub-satellite home cinema speaker system.

Acclaimed speaker brand Mordaunt-Short has launched a new sub-satellite home cinema speaker system. Called the Alumni, the package comprises Alumni 2 satellites, an Alumni 5 centre speaker, and an Alumni 9 subwoofer, and costs just £600 for a full 5.1 speaker array.

What's more, the package makes use of a number of high-spec technologies. For instance, there are 3.5in Continuous Profile Cone (CPC) mid/bass drivers; a 25mm aluminium dome tweeter that's light but exceptionally rigid to reduce distortion; a curved cabinet design to reduce standing waves; audiophile grade components throughout; a 120W subwoofer featuring an entirely new 8in ultra-long throw woofer; an infinitely adjustable plinth for the centre speaker; and dedicated stands and Omnimount Ready fittings for the Alumni 2s. What's more, the speakers are available in piano black or white high gloss finishes for the satellites and centre, with the subwoofer sporting a subtle satin finis.
