  Affordable Home Cinema From Samsung

By Manisha Kanetkar | Thursday | 21/02/2008

Samsung has extended its range of all-in-one home theatre kits with two new systems that claim to pack in all the essential features but won’t break the bank.

The lower-end model (X30) incorporates 5 bookshelf speakers and subwoofer, as well as a DVD player. It is wireless ready

and includes a USB host to allow you to view MPEG4 movies and JPEG files, and listen to MP3 music files. The system will retail at $499 RRP.

If you have a bit more money to spend, the higher-end TX500 home theatre system also includes 5.1 channel speakers, but its player also upscales DVDs to 1080p high definition resolution, Samsung says.

The system is also Anynet+ compatible, which essentially means the remote can be programmed to control other Anynet+ compatible devices in your home entertainment system, even if they are made by different brands. The TX500 has an RRP of $1099.
