The system comprises of two satellite speakers, subwoofer and a DVD/CD player. The sub houses all the amplification, the company says, with 2 x 35 watts front channels, 1 x 70 watt channel subwoofer.

The company claims that this 2.1 system does a similar job to a 5.1 system, creating a surround sound stage by means of Dolby Virtual and dts Virtual technology.
The DVD player uses Faroudja DCDi technology and features HDMI connectivity, which will output up to 1080p and up-convert interlaced format to Progressive Scan from the DVD source. Other connectivity options include 2 x S-Video and 2 x Composite video inputs, 1 x Component, 1 x Composite and 1 x S-Video outputs. The system also features 2 x Analogue audio inputs and 1 x Digital OPT.
Denon says it has used its AL24 audio processing technology, which is normally reserved for its AV amps and receivers, making the system suitable for listening to music as well. In addition, the volume level of the subwoofer can be adjusted independently of the main volume setting and there is an optional ASD-3N/W iPod docking port as well.
The S102 also features Denon's Audyssey Dynamic EQ and Bass XT for customizing the system to your room acoustics.
The speakers come with standard table speaker stands, and can also be wall mounted. Optional shelf stands (ASF-S05) or optional floor stands (ASF-S07) are also available. The system is covered by a two-year parts and labour warranty.
