  Epson Targets Install Projector Market

By Mike Wheeler | Thursday | 24/07/2008

Epson has decided to broaden its horizons by expanding into the installation market with the release of the G series of projectors, the EB-G5350, EB-G5100 and EB-G5200W. Having captured up to 35 percent of the education market, and 15 percent of the mobile arena, Epson have no presence in installation, which is something that the company hopes to rectify with this range.

One of the many features of the projector series is the ability to connect to a computer and have functionality with several projectors at once – particularly handy for schools, where you can switch the units on or off remotely.

The EB-G5350 is capable of wireless PC-free operation, supports Windows Vista Network Presentation and offers up to 5,000 ANSI lumens brightness and 1000:1 contrast ratio. The EB-G5200 delivers widescreen resolution of 4,200 lumens, while the EB-G5100 offers resolution up to 4,000 ANSI lumens and 1000:1 contrast ratio.

All the units have Epson 3-chip 3LCD high-aperture panels, which give more intense and sharper images, according to the manufacturer.

Also available soon are the EB-1725W and EB-1735W units, which are mainly designed for sales people on the road. Although not available until August, these units feature wireless technology and simplicity. If you wish to operate the projector remotely, all you have to do is plug in a USB key (provided with the projector) and you are ready to go.
