The new projector is 720p compatible, has an HDMI input and features a claimed contrast ratio of 2500:1 and is "whisper quiet at just 28dB," the company says.
"With the launch of the Acer PH530, we are meeting the growing demand from consumers for advanced projectors designed specifically for the home," said Acer's Matt Pearce. "The advances in image quality and colour reproduction mean that consumers can have a true cinematic experience in their living room."
Multimedia features include two environment modes – "living room" for bright rooms or "dark room" for darker rooms. Other functions include keystone correction, auto-focus, customisable start up and can be connected to multiple digital entertainment devices including gaming consoles, DVD players and home stereo systems.
There are also eight scenario and two user-customisable modes to allow you to select a viewing preference. From a PC source, you can choose movie, photo, game or a customised "user" setting. From a TV source, you can choose movie, sport, concert, game or again a customised "user" setting.
