  Mitsubishi Hollywood-Styled HD Projector

By Manisha Kanetkar | Wednesday | 17/01/2007

Mitsubishi Electric boasts it’s bringing Hollywood into your home with its new 1080p high definition projector, the HC5000.

Featuring a high-definition (HD) resolution of 1080p (1920 x 1080 pixels), and a super-quiet 19dB noise level in economy mode, the HC5000 will unobtrusively slot right in to your lounge or home theatre room.

Claiming a contrast ratio as high as 10,000: 1, this projector features ‘Fine' LCD panels which according to Mitsubishi have ten times the operation life of standard organic LCD panels. The lamp has a long life too, the company says, with up to 5000 hours use before needing to change the lamp.

And for a little bit of Hollywood, the HC5000 features the next generation Reon-VX image processor which uses Hollywood Quality Video technology created by the Silicon Optix Company.

"Until now, 1080p high-definition home theatre projection has come at twice the price of the HC5000. We developed the HC5000 so that it was possible for consumers to get a top of the range projector without spending a small fortune on the system itself and any on-going costs that often go with projectors," says Mitsubishi Electric's Paul Calderara.

RRP: $7999
