  Epson #1 In Projector Market

By Sarah Falson | Thursday | 23/08/2007

Figures have been released today which state that Epson dominated the Australian projector market in the second quarter of this year with 21 per cent market share, making it the leading projector-seller for the second year in a row with 17 per cent of the market.

The company's dominance is due in part to its leadership of the XGA-resolution projectors segment which accounts for 62 per cent of the total projector market, according to a report from industry analyst, IT Market Insights. The brand also lead the market in 2006.

In the 2000-2999 ANSI Lumen projectors segment (the brightest projectors on the market), which represents 64 per cent of the total projector market, Epson took out 28 per cent of sales.

"Our range of projectors for the education and business markets has advanced security features, wireless connectivity, PC-free operation including from USB drives, quick start-up and instant shutdown, advanced multi-screen display, PC and Mac compatibility, high brightness for every environment, and low maintenance and running costs," said Epson marketing communications director, Mike Pleasants.

According to Pleasants, Epson's new 3LCD projectors which feature "no moving parts and no interruptions to the light path allowing them to generate bright, natural images and smooth and sharp playback of graphics, images and video content with no colour break-up", made a significant contribution to Epson's projector sales in the last 12 months.
