The new model includes dual-input HDMI video switching and video cross-conversion circuitry that converts all S-video and composite video sources to component video output. The Harman Kardon component features three, assignable wide bandwidth, HDTV-compatible component-video inputs, and further video and audio connections.
The receiver also provides an A/V Sync Delay function, which the company says compensates for the delay between the video and audio signals that can occur in a home entertainment system, so that sound and picture are synchronized.
Setup is via the automated loudspeaker calibration EzSet+ function and for multiroom music, the Harman Kardon component features amplifier sections with assignable back channels, which can be used in full 7.1-channel mode or switched to 5.1-plus-stereo dual-zone configuration, the company says.
Not to forget the ubiquitous iPod, the receiver includes an iPod interface, so that when the device is connected to the receiver using the ‘Bridge', the iPod can be operated via the receiver's remote control, with the operation menus appearing on the TV and on the receiver's front panel display.
